Creator-based Coherence

Image
Isabel Owen said, “There is a sweet spot between working hard and finding the path of least resistance. That sweet spot is the unforced rhythm of grace.” I know that spot- it’s the quiet state of creative flow. I feel calm, confident, and peacefully productive.   It comes when I am just challenged enough by my work but not frustrated or working too hard.   Scientists call it ‘Coherence.’ According to Greg Cootsana, coherence is a synchronizing of the logical left brain with the intuitive right brain.  In Latin it is “vis meditrix natura’ or “the power of natural healing.”  I like to think of it as “God flow.”  It’s one of my very favorite places to be. So how do we have more coherence or 'God flow' in our lives? Unplug Slow Down Breathe You know the answers. However, I think C.S. Lewis said it best: (He said most things best.) “The first job each morning consists in shoving all other voices back; in listening to that other voice, taking that o...

Constant tiny changes can create big, powerful events- either for good or evil.  Today though, let’s talk about the good stuff. There is power in constancy and a special creative power in remaining constant in our quest, no matter what we are creating. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. What are your small and simple constants? In my personal life, the foods I eat, the activities I pursue, and the relationships I cultivate may involve tiny constants. It’s the s...

Creator-based® Characteristics

Image
In the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence,  our Founding Fathers asserted that we are “endowed by our Creator  with certain unalienable Rights, and among these are  Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I love the phrase ‘endowed by our Creator.'   An endowment is a gift. We are Gifted!  We are created for Life. We are created for Liberty. We are created for Happiness. Do you believe that? Are there parts of you that roll their eyes about being created for happiness? Kinda depends on the day for me. The thing is, friend, we are created for a ‘life of unrestrained happiness,’ or in other words, joy. Now that part of you is really rolling her eyes, isn’t she? Mud Dog Poop Sick Kids Traffic Joy? What the heck? As a 50/50 Girl, I want both sides o...

My Creator Story by Beth E.

My Creator Story  by Beth E. This week we have a guest writer, Beth E. If you have a story to tell, we would love to hear from you. Pease, reach out and let us know. Beth E. has had some significant challenges in her life and, through those challenges, has overcome and created some real good in the world. I myself have observed her work and can sincerely recommend her knowledge and insight. Here's to overcoming and the beauty of creating a great life. I hope Beth E. will inspire you as she has me. All my love, Beth Hi, I'm Beth E. I'm glad to be with you today to share my story. I am recovering from addiction and anxiety. One of those alone can be tricky, but together, they are a powerful foe. What I've learned, though, is that addiction and anxiety are not really my enemy, but instead, they are my teachers. You see, from my most formative experiences, I created 4 foundational beliefs.  For as long as I can remember, this was my outlook: The world is a scary and dange...

Creator-based® Cacophony

Image
Don’t you just love the word cacophony? It’s one of those words that means just what it sounds like.  Cacophony means a harsh, discordant mixture of sounds.   This past week, after all the fun of YouWeek, my brain would not settle down.  There truly was cacophony in my head, and I was all stirred up. It was hard to focus, stop working or spend time in quiet solitude. I just didn't feel like I could stop. Other words for cacophony are discord, racket, and caterwauling- yup, caterwauling. That was what was all in my head.  So the real question is, how does a creator change chaos to calm? What choices could I make to settle the excitement, nervous tension, and general stress of the big YouWeek push and come back to my centered self? Well, friend, I can only tell you what I did. I’d love to hear what you would do! I sat outside. I felt the air on my cheek and the sun on my tense shoulders. I went for a walk with my grand girls and listened to them prattle on ...
